Yo Kurt, I got an email back from Dan on his lightning motor... he says he should be back from out of the country sometime next month.
Do you have a windsor block that just needs the dingleball hone and new bearings and rings?
If so, how much would something like that be worth to you as an assembled short block?

Advanced auto clickyAutozone has the same pan for $64.99 The trick is the dipstick tube. The year block that I have for your project is newer and has the provision for the dipstick in the block itself so, it's possible to use the standard 5.0 dipstick with this oil pan. (on these pans they intend the dipstick to go through the pan).

I recall you saying the motormounts will be the same... what parts are different besides the oilpan and intake?

I knew there was a better reason why I wanted to get my hands on a Crown Vic. Obviously not an 85. More along the lines of the currently used patroll Statie cars.
